Oh hey, funny meeting you here!
My name is Shannon, and I live in Chicago, by way of the Washington, D.C. suburbs. I’m a sales rep for a custom apparel and promotional products company. I have a cat named Mr. Pineapple and he is a menace to society but also the light of my life.
I have Hyperadrenergic POTS (dysautonomia), probably EDS but who knows, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and depression sprinkled in for good measure. This is an overabundance and overshare of information, but what can I say, I’m chatty.
In my spare time, I volunteer for Dysautonomia International and I write to share my experiences about my life and health so others like me will feel less alone.
This blog started primarily with the intention of writing about dysautonomia, but expanded to include stories about mental health, young adulthood, navigating the health care system, and chronic illness as a whole. I also write weekly newsletters over at shanstack that are less chronic illness focused.
I like museum gift ships, trips to Target, singing along in my car, overpriced candles, potluck dinners with friends, distracting my book club, bingewatching television, cuddling my cat, and taking naps.
